It All Started With A Picture...
Grampa Waddlemeyer. Who was this character who raised the spirited granddaughter who would become the adopted daughter of St. Canard's nightly winged defender? We found ourselves asking that very question, so we decided to do something about it, and thus PreQuills was born :)
If the preceding paragraph has left you totally confused and you aren't even sure who St. Canard's defender is (let alone where St. Canard is :) we recommend you get yourself hence to a good FAQ on Darkwing Duck. It was around Christmas time of 1995 when we first began considering doing a back story about Gosalyn's family. Gosalyn is a special character to us, and since her grampa was so special to her, we decided the stories ought to revolve around him. It was the holiday season, so we decided his first name had to be Noel. As a scientist of some calibre, we began to make other assumptions - he must have worked for the government, and that meant SHUSH. Things just sorta snowballed from there, and the stories have continued to almost write themselves ever since. Almost ;)
While our stories might not be as cartoony as the original series, we've tried to make them true to the continuity of the shows. If you're still not sure you'd like to read them yet, how about meeting some of the characters? :)

This page is naturally going to be a work in progress. We have further
stories planned, and other characters who deserve their place here, but we
wouldn't want to give too much away too soon :) There are also characters
who have already been introduced and who will be added just as soon as their
portrait graphics get done :) Let us know if there are any you'd like
to see sooner than later!
